Prostate MRI

Our 3T Siemens MRI allows us to provide high-end prostate imaging.
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) uses a powerful magnetic field and radio waves to produce detailed images of the structures of the prostate gland. The main indication for MRI of the prostate is to assess the extent of prostate cancer and it can also be used to assess for infection, benign prostatic hyperplasia or congenital abnormalities. This scan allows for clearer and more detailed imaging of the prostate without the use of ionising radiation. Prostate MRI scans are typically completed within 45 to 60 minutes.

Our Radiologists have subspecialist training in Prostate MRI reporting, speak to our team now and experience the highest quality of care.

Men's Ultrasound

Imaging of the male reproductive system plays a crucial role in men's healthcare, serving various diagnostic purposes. Your doctor may request these examinations such as:

• Testicular Ultrasound: For assessment of the testes and scrotum. Often utilized to check for any abnormal development or pathology. In addition to being utilised to rule out testicular torsion.

• Penile Ultrasound: External assessment of the penis and glans. This is most commonly used to check for any abnormal curvature or other significant abnormality.

• Prostate Ultrasound: External assessment of the prostate. Prostate Ultrasound can be used to assess prostatomegaly (prostate enlargement) and can serve as a more cost effective method of assessing the size of the prostate but diagnosis of prostate conditions is limited. For full characterisation/to check for any abnormality of the prostate, MRI is the current gold standard and recommended scan. Please note we do not perform transrectal Ultrasounds, all scans are external and require no internal component.
